JEFF ADAMS - GUITAR

Described as a "masterful Lead Guitarist," he is characterized as skillfully providing essential melodic components, solos, intros, outros, and adding his signature sound to The Blue Genies', David Bowie presentation.

JOHN KNOBLER

John is a native of the Philadelphia area. He has had great success for decades, playing in the tri state areas of Pa, New Jersey, Md and Delaware. John joined the Blue Genies adding his bass and vocal talents to this exciting new band.

JOHN BARRETT - DRUMS

His musical and drumming journey is a remarkable testament to the power and magic of great grooves. From his early days, John has been deeply committed to crafting grooves that are irresistibly compelling making you want to move and groove along.

TERRY FRITZ - SAX, KEYBOARD

A seasoned musician with an extensive career spanning over three decades, showcasing his exceptional skills on a variety of instruments, including the saxophone, flute, and keyboards.

August 31 at 12:05 PM Made sure I caught The Blue Genies Band this time around being that their magic carpet ride landed them in Md. at the Rams Head on Saturday night. It’s just miles east from my original hometown ironically called Bowie. Their tribute band is all about the love for David Bowie and his amazing songs! From Aladdin Sane to Ziggy Stardust, we sang along as they played them just right!

John West is the best! He’s the consummate professional, a simply superb vocalist. From the tips of his cool spikey white hair, (hey babe your hair’s all white/alright) down to his shiny black shoes, the guys got personal style for miles and great dramatic stage presence too. A must have when representing Bowie, as he was always big on fa-fa-fa-fa-fashion and acting.

So great seeing Jeff Adams up on stage again. I remarked to him that I used to dance right in front of him 45 years ago when he played guitar with Face Dancer in Rockville at the Outside Inn. (We’re both still rockin’ after all these years!) He looks and sounds great! An exceptional guitarist! And hey Jeff, put on your “red shoes” and dance the blues!

Bassist John Knobler and I jokingly hobnobbed as I danced basically right next to him just to his left from the side of the stage. He plays with real natural feel and adds the groove with his moves. Don Jackowski wowed us as he created atmospheric ambiance on the keys. Michael Fiore surely did finesse the sound on his drum kit.

Really excellent band honoring the songs of David Bowie with total professionalism and years of collective expertise. We all had fun watching them play and didn’t want the show to end! My determination to secure my spot to dance inside the Rams Head definitely paid off! Yay! Trust me, let’s dance isn’t just a suggestion for me, it’s an absolute must! That said, their encore consisted of The Jean Genie and Suffragette City. I was way caught up in rapturous bliss dancing to those. Now back to Florida they go where it’s so hot and never snows. Thank you Blue Genies for your truly magical show! If you wanna see clips and pic’s, your wish is granted on here.
